Chow Mein

1 package of brown rice noodles or pad Thai noodles

Celery

White Onion

Cabbage

4 tbsp GF soy sauce

1 tbsp GF oyster sauce

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp GF sesame oil

  1. Cook noodles according to instruction, drain and run under cold water

  2. Chop up celery, white onion and cabbage (as much or as little as you prefer)

  3. Put them into a pot with hot oil

  4. Create the sauce by combining the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and sesame oil

  5. Pour half of the sauce onto the vegetables and cook until soften

  6. Once vegetables are soft, add in the noodles and the rest of the sauce

  7. Mix until well combined

Yep, that's all there is to it! Just a few ingredients and simple steps then... BAM! you have amazing chow mein! I love the taste and texture of this recipe. The sauce has all of the perfect flavors, the noodles taste very similar to normal chow mein noodles and the veggies add a nice crunch. Out of all the different recipes I have tried, this has tasted the closest to that classic Chinese take out chow mein we love and crave. It definitely does the trick for me!
